Doniger / Burroughs Obtains Attorney Fees in Film Rights Dispute

Venice, CA – An important ruling issued in the long-running dispute over the rights to the feature film Toolbox Murders, a case handled by firm lawyers Stephen M. Doniger and David R. Shein.

Ownership of the film material was recently established at arbitration by the Honorable George P. Schiavelli (Ret.), who ruled in favor of Doniger / Burroughs’s client. Per a contractual term, Judge Schiavelli was then asked to consider whether Doniger  / Burroughs’s client should recover the costs and attorney fees it incurred in reaching this decision. Late last week, the Judge ruled, finding that the Doniger / Burrough client should recover more than $28,000.00. The case will now proceed to trial on the issue of damages.
